Chicago Finnish School was founded to serve the Finnish speaking and bilingual families in Chicago area. Our goal is to maintain and improve Finnish language skills and to teach Finnish culture and traditions.
Finnish School is a great place for kids and the whole family. Whether you are in United States permanently or just for a year or two, Finnish School offers a place where you and your family can feel at home. The age range of students is from 0-15 year olds. Our doors are always open to new members.
Chicago Finnish School is a volunteer organization that relies on its members to participate in all the school’s functions. In order to keep membership fees low, the parents help by teaching, organizing events, participating in meetings etc. Due to the small size of the organization, teaching is also being taken care of by parents. The teachers get a modest compensation for their work.
